Hevy Alternative Without the Feed or the Forms

By Twaka team ·

The short answer: Hevy is a good tracker with a generous free tier, and you can set your profile to private. If you want no feed at all and no set forms, look at two apps. marble is free, has no account, and reads a typed workout. Twaka is a paid, plain-English log with one page a day and no separate account.

Hevy is good. Here's who should stay

Hevy's App Store listing has a 4.9 rating from about 96K ratings, and it's easy to see why. The listing says it's free with no ads. You get exercise videos, rest timers, graphs, one rep max estimates, an Apple Watch app and an iPad app. You can mark sets as warm-up, drop sets, failure and supersets.

The social side is part of the deal. You can follow friends, see their lifts and copy their routines. But you can also set your profile to private.

Stay on Hevy if:

  • You like seeing what your friends lift. That's a real motivator for a lot of people.
  • You log from your Apple Watch.
  • You want exercise videos for form.
  • The free tier covers you. For many people it does.

Who wants something quieter

Some people don't want a feed in their training app, even a private one. They want a log. Just their sessions, written down, nobody else.

And some people don't want forms. Picking an exercise, tapping a row, typing reps, typing kg, ticking done. That's fine on a fresh day. Between heavy sets it can feel like paperwork.

If that's you, there are two honest options.

Hevy vs marble vs Twaka

This table only uses what each app says on its own App Store listing or official site. "Not on listing" means the listing doesn't mention it.

The honest privacy picture

If privacy is your main reason to leave Hevy, look at the labels.

marble's label says Data Not Collected. It has no account and no server. On privacy alone, marble is the strictest of the three.

Twaka has no separate account. Your training log lives on your device and in your own iCloud, if iCloud is on. There's no feed and nothing to follow. Its App Store label does list some data linked to you, like purchases and usage data, so read it yourself and decide.

What marble does well

marble describes itself as a private workout journal. You type or paste a session, it finds the sets, and you check them before saving. It's free, with no account, and it imports Hevy and Strong CSV files. If you want to bring your Hevy history and pay nothing, marble is the pick. It needs iOS 26 or later.

What Twaka does differently

One page a day. Each day is a single page. You write the session top to bottom. A calendar sits at the top to jump back to last Tuesday or forward to what's planned.

Last time under each lift. When Twaka recognises an exercise as you type, it shows last time's sets underneath. You know what to beat before the set starts.

Made-for-you programs. Tell Twaka your days, equipment and goal and it writes a weekly program onto your pages. It's editable text. Hevy has programs too, through its Trainer. The difference is that Twaka's lives on your day pages as plain text you can change.

No forms. You write a line like this:

Bench press 3 sets of 10 at 60kg
then 1x6 @ 70kg, felt heavy

Twaka picks out the sets, reps and kg. The note stays as your note. More in how to log workouts in plain English.

What Twaka doesn't do

  • It isn't free. Twaka Pro is required to use the day log.
  • No import is listed. Plan to start fresh with your current working weights.
  • No Apple Watch app is listed.
  • No exercise videos are listed.

If you need any of those, Hevy or marble will suit you better. That's fine.
